Chris Kerr

Chief Executive Officer

Chris brings over 30 years of progressive business experience in both the IT and Asset Finance sectors.

Chris co-founded Assetlinx Capital in 2005 which now forms part of Contract Capital. Through marketing and management positions with IBM Global Finance, Dell Financial Services, AT&T Capital and SHL Financial Services he has expertise in structuring large transaction asset based finance programs.

Robert Howe

Chief Operating Officer

Robert is a seasoned international financial services executive with over 25 years of senior level management experience shared between the asset finance sector and corporate turnaround and growth consulting.

He spent most of his corporate career with AT&T Capital / Newcourt Credit Group and was Managing Director of the Continental European business which supported 16 countries, 150 staff with owned and managed assets exceeding $1 billion.

Peter Knee, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Peter has a unique 30 year business background including a mix of sales, operations and fiduciary skills acquired by progressing to executive roles mainly in multi-national financial services and high tech companies.

He was VP Sales, Canada for several global companies (ATT Capital, Compaq Capital and Citibank Vendor Finance). At Citibank he moved from VP, Sales to the CAO role, helping to restructure several acquired companies, and then served 8 years as CFO for their $billion+ asset financing business More recently, Peter was CFO for a small publicly traded high tech company and started up a language translation business and sold it within 3 years. Peter graduated with a BA double major business/economics from Bishops University, with follow on to article with Deloitte where he earned his CPA, CA designation.

Karen Fox

VP Credit

Karen is a risk and credit analyst with more than 20 years’ experience in diverse industrial and financial environments.

Career highlights include positions as Structuring Manager at GE Capital Solutions and Senior Credit analyst at GE’s IT Solutions group. Karen has been instrumental in the success of Assetlinx Capital, maintaining credit losses at less than 0.5%. Karen’s background includes a BA from Queen’s University and LL.B from the University of Toronto and FCI courses from the Canadian Institute of Credit & Financial Management.

Bruce Smith

Advisor and Board Member

Bruce is the former Canadian President and COO of Element Financial Corp. Prior to joining Element, from 2006-2011, Bruce served as the MD & SVP of Vendor Finance at CIT Financial. Prior, he held several Senior Management positions at Newcourt Credit Group, and also served as President & GM of Dell Financial Services in Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1985.

Ken Thomson

Advisor and Board Member

Ken is CEO of Pivot Financial Inc. an investment firm focused on supporting the growth of specialized alternative lenders and direct private lending to small and medium sized ventures. Ken has 20 years of experience in the investment industry, and in managing operating businesses. Ken has been a member of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Independent Review Committee of a family of TSX-listed investment funds, and he currently serves on the Board of several private companies and is a member of the Independent Review Committee of two asset managers each with AUM exceeding $1 billion. He holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and has completed the Partners’, Directors’ and Officers’ Course offered by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.

Alan Surtees

Advisor and Board Member

Prior to co-founding Assetlinx Capital, Alan was the President of Rider Computer Services LTD., a company he started in 1988.

Rider provided the processing and remarketing expertise for various leasing companies thereby maximizing their return on residual investments. By the time Alan stepped down as the President, Rider had grown to be the largest processor of off lease equipment in Canada.
